What was your first encounter with WLN?

My first time going to a WLN event was in the Windgate Center. Women I had not met before were coming up to me and congratulating me on obtaining my private pilot license. Feeling genuine pride from complete strangers gave me a sense of belonging I didn’t realize I needed until that moment. To have a place where we can openly talk and relate to the struggles of being a strong woman keeps me grounded. I am very thankful that I get to hear the inspiring stories of women creating their own path and seeing firsthand that it is possible!

What motivated you to engage with WLN?

Mrs. Ealy introduced me to Mrs. Annie Fitzgerald.

What is your favorite part about WLN?

My favorite part about WLN is the eagerness and willingness of members to help support other members. I believe that is a direct effect of the community values that WLN stands for.

How has WLN impacted you? What personal or professional growth have you gained?

Mrs. Ealy connected me with Mrs. Fitzgerald, who was the first woman captain. She has mentored me through my journey in becoming a pilot, and I am forever thankful for her advice.

Can you share a specific experience, event, or moment with WLN that was especially meaningful to you?

My first WLN event at the Windgate Center, where women I didn’t know congratulated me and made me feel genuinely supported.

What have you learned from WLN?

The most impactful thing I have learned is:
“I’m not taking up too much space; I’m simply in the wrong room.”

What advice would you give to other women seeking leadership opportunities?

Fear will always be there in one form or another. You must do it scared.
